Migrating your Email Account from DCS to Go Hostal

I use Microsoft Outlook (These instructions may vary slightly based on your version of Microsoft Outlook)
  1. Open Microsoft Outlook
  2. Select "Tools --> Email Accounts..."
  3. Select "View or change existing e-mail accounts"
  4. Click "Next >"
  5. Select the appropriate account and click "Change..."
  6. Click "More Settings..."
  7. Click the "Advanced" tab and change the Incoming server (POP3) port number to 1111
  8. Click "OK"
  9. Click "Next >"
  10. Click "Finish"
  11. You should now be back at the main Outlook window - Click "Send/Recieve" to download any email left on the old server
  12. Once this has finished, select "Tools --> Email Accounts..."
  13. Select "View or change existing e-mail accounts"
  14. Click "Next >"
  15. Select the appropriate account and click "Change..."
  16. Change "Incoming mail server (POP3)" to mail.gohostal.com
  17. Change "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)" to mail.gohostal.com
  18. If you changed your Go Hostal Email Account password to something different from your DCS account password, be sure to update the "Password" field
  19. Click "More Settings..."
  20. Click the "Outgoing Server" tab and verify that "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is checked and "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected.
  21. Click the "Advanced" tab and change the Incoming server (POP3) port number back to 110
  22. Click "OK"
  23. Click "Next >"
  24. Click "Finish"
  25. You should now be back at the main Outlook window - Click "Send/Receive" to test your new account
I use Microsoft Outlook Express (These instructions may vary slightly based on your version of Microsoft Outlook Express)
  1. Open Microsoft Outlook Express
  2. Select "Tools --> Accounts..."
  3. Select the appropriate account and click "Properties"
  4. Click the "Advanced" tab and change the Incoming server (POP3) port number to 1111
  5. Click "OK"
  6. Click "Close"
  7. You should now be back at the main Outlook Express window - Click "Send/Recv" to download any email left on the old server
  8. Once this has finished, select "Tools --> Accounts..."
  9. Select the appropriate account and click "Properties"
  10. Click the "Servers" tab
  11. Change "Incoming mail server (POP3)" to mail.gohostal.com
  12. Change "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)" to mail.gohostal.com
  13. If you changed your Go Hostal Email Account password to something different from your DCS account password, be sure to update the "Password" field
  14. Also be sure that "My server requires authentication" is checked
  15. Click the "Advanced" tab and change the Incoming server (POP3) port number back to 110
  16. Click "OK"
  17. Click "Close"
  18. You should now be back at the Main Outlook Express window - Click "Send/Recv" to test your new account
I use WebMail

The URL for WebMail is now http://webmail.gohostal.com.

I use another email client
  1. Modify your existing DCS account so that Incoming Mail (POP3) uses port 1111
  2. Perform one last Send/Receive to download any email left on the old server
  3. Change your Incoming Mail (POP3) port back to 110
  4. Change your Incoming (POP3) Server to mail.gohostal.com
  5. Change your Outgoing (SMTP) Server to mail.gohostal.com
  6. If you changed your password from the old mail server to the new one, be sure to update it
  7. Be sure that you have specified that your Outgoing (SMTP) Server requires authentication using the same settings as your Incoming (POP3) Mail Server
